Why it goes wrong
Many online tills stop when the internet goes down: the cashier can't ring up a sale, the queue grows, and sales get written on paper to be entered by hand later. Those notes often get lost or entered twice, and the stock goes wrong. And the owner can't see what sold during the outage until someone types the paper notes in by hand.
How to do it in Termino
- 1
Sell as usual
When the network is unavailable, the Wi-Fi icon in the top bar turns red, but the cashier carries on selling, putting orders on hold, making returns and paying out cash. The return PIN is checked on the till itself.
- 2
Close the shift once you're back online
Ending a shift and closing the day need internet, because every sale has to be sent to the system first. Without a connection the till won't close the shift: that way no sale is left on just one computer.
- 3
Sales are sent automatically
Once the connection is back, the till sends new sales about every 15 seconds and fetches changes: new products, prices and stock levels. The “Sync now” icon in the top bar starts a sync immediately.
- 4
Check the status
In “Sales history”, every sale is marked “Synced”, “Pending” or “Sync error”. “Pending” means the sale is saved on the till and waiting for a connection.
- 5
If sending fails
If the connection is back but the sync icon still shows a red dot, press “Sync now”. If the error stays, open “App settings” → “Diagnostics”, press “Copy all” and send it to Termino support. Your sales stay saved on the till in the meantime.
- 6
Double-check the last items in stock
Without internet, two tills can sell the same last item, because each one sees the stock level it last received. Once the connection is back, the branch's stock can go negative, so after a day like that, check stock levels in the system.

Will I lose sales if the internet was down for a few hours?
No. The Termino till saves sales on the computer and sends them all when the connection returns. Until they are sent, they are marked “Pending” in sales history.
Can a cashier sign in without internet?
Signing in from the cashier list needs internet. If the Termino till is only locked, a cashier can unlock it with their PIN offline too, as long as they have signed in on this till online at least once.
The owner changed a price. When does it show on the till?
On an online till in about 15 seconds, or straight away if the cashier presses “Sync now”. An offline till gets the new price once the connection is back.
Do offline sales show up in the system?
Not straight away: the Termino system sees a sale when the till sends it. Once the connection is back, offline sales appear on the “B2C Sales” page and in the reports.
The shift won't end. What should I do?
Ending a shift needs internet, because the Termino till first sends every sale to the system. Check the connection and try again, and also make sure no items are left in an order on hold.
